While most people know David Cook as winner of American Idol Season seven, he was behind the scenes writing music and performing 10 years prior. His experience as a singer-songwriter, recording his own albums, performing on live television and touring makes David a well rounded musician with extensive knowledge on how to navigate the music industry from all levels and stages.
Long before American Idol, David Cook was starting out his career after leaving school to pursue music full time. In 2006, he wrote and produced his own album, Analog Heart. In 2008, after winning the seventh season of American Idol, David was signed to a major recording label and released his second album.
Since American Idol, which jump-started his already dedicated career, he has gone on to release three more albums and tour around the country. His spot-lighted career has allowed him to return to the American Idol stage several times, as well as have appearances on Good Morning America and Saturday Night Live. Drawing on his early interests and influences, David most recently had a stint on Broadway, playing Charlie Price in Kinky Boots; his debut performance.
Following his win on American Idol, David had eleven songs debut on the Billboard charts defeating a previous record set in 2006. David has worked and/or performed with Carrie Underwood, Our Lady Peace, Rob Cavallo, The Midwest Kings, Lifehouse, Chantal Kreviazuk, Gavin DeGraw and Phillip Phillips. He continues to write, perform, record and explore other creative aspects of the music industry.
