Bonzai Caruso is a 6X Grammy Award Winning Mix Engineer and Producer with over two decades of experience working with high-profile recording artists. Bonzai has been credited with a unique sound, collaborating on records with artists such as Damian Marley, Chronixx, Stephen Marley, Madonna, Sean "Puffy" Combs, Mary J. Blige, Notorious B.I.G., Missy Elliot, Faith Evans, Mariah Carey, Gwen Stefani, Alicia Keys, Ice-T, Erykah Badu, Cher, and many more. Bonzai's easy-going personality, drive for perfection, respect for the creative collaboration process and his spirited work ethic inevitably lead to unique and professional relations with artists across all genres.
He has acquired dozens of Gold and Platinum records, one of which was for "Shy Guy" by Diana King. Upon hearing that mix, Stephen Marley (son of the late great Bob Marley) contacted Bonzai and a collaborative musical relationship was formed that continues to this day. Together they have recorded and mixed many chart-topping hits, including the album entitled "Welcome To Jamrock" (Damian "Jr Gong" Marley) which won a Grammy for Best Reggae Album and another Grammy for Best Alternative Single.
Bonzai followed suit with Stephen Marley's own debut album entitled "Mind Control", winning them a Grammy. Soon after, the album was re-recorded in an acoustic format, winning yet another Grammy for Best Reggae Album. He also recorded and mixed several tracks on "Revelation" Part 1 "Root of Life" album, winning them a Grammy for Best Reggae Album in 2012. Bonzai also mixed the Nas and Damian Marley album entitled "Distant Relatives".
In addition to recording and mixing Grammy Winning albums, Bonzai also recorded and mixed all of the music for the 2006 Winter Paralympics opening ceremonies in Torino, Italy, with composer Enrico Cremonesi and the 64-piece Bulgarian Symphony Orchestra.
Bonzai composes original music for Film & Television and has recently written music for several Independent Films, music for Phillip Morris, CMT, Adidas and more.
