No one in the music industry demands more higher standards than Sir Elton John. So when the need arose for a bass player, Matt was first-call. Having played bass with Elton since 2012, he has performed over 550 shows, and is currently on a massive world tour, “Farewell Yellow Brick Road”.
Having grown up in a musical family in Detroit (Including his brother Gregg - who is also an Expert on Musician’s Council), Matt attended the highly esteemed University of North Texas, before leaving to tour with jazz great Maynard Ferguson. This was the start of a hugely successful touring and recording career, which has solidified Matt’s reputation as one of the best bass players of the modern era.
Matt’s credits are impressive, and he has recorded and/or toured with some of the biggest names in the business including Elton John, Rick Springfield, Ringo Starr, Boz Scaggs, David Lee Roth, Joe Satriani, Michael McDonald, Lita Ford, ELO, Julian Lennon, Gino Vannelli, Sheena Easton, Brian Wilson, and Don Henley.
While he is best known for bass guitar and backing vocals, Matt is also a talented writer and producer, and owns a state-of-the-art studio in Los Angeles, California.
