Michael has been playing music all his life, dedicating his time and efforts to the guitar starting at just 12 years old. A 20 year career in the music industry has followed and Michael continues to stand out as a performer, producer and songwriter, with a specialty in music licensing.
With an education in recording engineering from Full Sail University as well as Business Management from SUNY New Paltz; Michael has used his skillset to become a well known name in the realm of TV show and film music. His work has been featured over 2000 times in various film trailers, commercials, TV shows and DVDs. Songs written by Michael can be heard on American Idol, The Voice, The Sing-Off, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Hannah Montana and High School Musical 2, and he has written and produced commercials for Audi, Mazda and Sketchers.
Michael also is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to music licensing, a field he has successfully navigated for the past 14 years. His passion to share with other musicians his process of music licensing led him to write “The 4 Step Plan to Licensing Success,” an e-book he gives away to those interested in pursuing this path.
Drawing on his foundation as a guitar player, Michael frequently works as a session guitarist for other composers on their television shows and films. His album “Stained Voodoo,” which also features the drumming of fellow Musician’s Council Expert Jeff Bowders, was awarded Instrumental Album of the Year by the LA Music Awards. A passionate educator, writer, and lover of all things guitar, he authored the instructional book “Introspective Guitar” and has been an online instructor for GuitarTricks.com
Michael’s current focus is SonicTremor, his Premier Trailer Music production company, where he writes and licenses music specifically for film & video game trailers.
