Tom has been playing music professionally since he was 7 years old. His career has spanned over 50 years, and during that time he has made a significant impact on the music industry as a producer, songwriter and musician. With over 500 of his songs recorded by major artists and with two Grammy Awards under his belt, Tom’s contribution to the music industry is significant.
Tom has a music business degree from the Berklee College of Music. He spent his years after college performing, touring and recording as a drummer and singer for various bands and artists such as Roy Buchanan and Chuck Berry. As a musician, he has performed at the White House several times alongside Buddy Guy, Mick Jagger and BB King. He has released multiple solo albums in the midst of contributing to projects by other major artists. Tom has won two Grammys for his work on Buddy Guy’s albums Living Proof in 2008 and Born to Play Guitar in 2015. In addition, he has been nominated for seven other Grammy awards.
While his work as a musician is exceptional, he is an equally talented producer and songwriter. His talent as a songwriter is evident on various TV shows such as Austin City Limits, Conan O’Brien, The Late Late Show, and The David Letterman Show.
Throughout his esteemed career, Tom’s production work has included duets or solo projects with Eric Clapton, George Thorogood, Keith Urban, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Keith Richards, James Bay, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Van Morrison, Joss Stone, Carlos Santana, Kid Rock, B.B King, Buddy Guy, Gregg Allman, Billy Gibbons, Warren Haynes, Keb Mo, Mick Jagger, Susan Tedeschi, Derek Trucks, Gary Clark Jr, Foghat, Allen Toussaint, Delbert McClinton, Johnny Winter, James Cotton, Quinn Sullivan and many others.
